You will need to visualize how the actual sale will be and decide on where each item is going to be placed. This will make your job easier. You might also want to prepare huge boards that will be placed in front of each category of items so your prospective buyers can find what they want easily. Once you’ve got everything ready, decide on a specific day for the sale and advertise your sale. Probably the best way to advertise is to put an ad in the local newspaper on the day of the sale. Flyers work well too. Make sure your garage sale gets in the face of every person passing by. Use large bright signs that can be seen from a block away. You’ll be surprised by the number of curious passers-by that will stop to take a look.

If you have everything well, you have nothing to be anxious about. When the buyers arrive, just enjoy yourself. Talk to everyone, make them feel at home and let them know what you have. Of course, they will haggle over the prices. But if you have your pricing strategy ready, you will know exactly how low you can go.
